ABS
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is a common thermoplastic polymer typically used for injection molding applications.
Acetal
Polyacetal and polyoxymethylene (POM), is a general-purpose, semi-crystalline, engineered thermoplastic that has a high resistance to chemicals, water, heat, and scratching.
Acrylic
Poly(methyl methacrylate), or PMMA, is often used as a lighter, shatter-resistant alternative to glass in everything from windows, aquariums, and hockey rinks. It is often referred to as plexiglass.
Nylon
Polyamide Nylon plastic (PA) is a synthetic thermoplastic polymer commonly used in injection molding applications. Uses include rubber reinforcement, clothing, rope, thread, and injectable molded parts.
PC
Polycarbonate (PC) plastics are naturally transparent amorphous thermoplastics. PC is commonly used for plastic lenses in eyewear, in medical devices, automotive components, protective gear, greenhouses, Digital Disks (CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray), and exterior lighting fixtures.
PET
Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET/PETE) is a polymer resin that protects against water, oxygen, CO2, and most solvents. Its structure makes it shatter-resistant. PET is used to make things like single-use beverage bottles, carpets, plastic films, and food packaging.
PETG
Polyethylene terephthalate glycol is a thermoplastic polyester that provides significant chemical resistance, durability, and excellent formability for manufacturing. PETG has better shock resistance and is better suited to higher temperatures than PET due to the added glycol.
PCTG
Poly – Cyclohexylenedimethylene Terephthalate Glycol is a clear co-polyester. PCT-G polymer is particularly suited for applications requiring very low extractables, high clarity, and very high gamma stability. The material is also characterized by high-impact properties.
PBT
Polybutylene terephthalate is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic compound used for engineering purposes. PBT has significant use in electrical applications, as well as the automotive, electronic, and medical fields, among others.
PP
Polypropylene has a very high melting point and is often used in packaging that contains a hot liquid. It is semi-transparent, has a low-friction surface, and is a good electrical insulator. Common uses are found in product packaging and automotive parts.
PS
Polystyrene is a soft or rigid foam with a low melting point. It is usually used for insulation or packing material commonly called Styrofoam. When mixed with rubber it becomes a high-impact polystyrene.
PE
Polyethylene is commonly categorized into one of several major compounds, the most common of which include Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE).
PVC
Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC or Vinyl) is a high strength thermoplastic material widely used in applications, such as pipes, medical devices, wire and cable insulation.
SAN
Styrene Acrylonitrile resin, commonly shortened to SAN, is a copolymer of styrene and acrylonitrile, widely used in place of polystyrene owing to its greater thermal resistance.
